Meet Ashley Vincent.
She’s the talent behind Ashley Alexandra Design, professional photography services.
Ashley holds a special place in my heart. In the early years of starting my first studio, Ashley was my right-hand woman. Not only is she a talented photographer, she’s an incredible yogi and yoga teacher! So, when I was rebranding my studio to Blacksmith Yoga Community, Ashley was the obvious choice for capturing my vision for the brand: growth in grit. I loved her work so much I transitioned it into my own branding, as you may have noticed with every page you click on! Check out the gallery below for a glimpse into our first photo project together, shot in a scrap yard in Fort St. John, BC.
Here’s her bio:
"There’s always been an artist inside me. Like most children I created with pencils, paints and crayons. But as a teenager art became more, it was a refuge from some hard things I was facing. In my escape I began tinkering with digital mediums; I discovered comfort here and my creative expression.
Now as a professional photographer I have the privilege of capturing people as art. My absolute favourite thing is to be able to show someone an image of themselves or their loved one and to feel the emotion they align to the image I’ve captured.
My soul feels fed when someone tells me I’ve revealed a side of them they longed to show - a perspective often missed or forgotten."
Ashley will be shooting my next yoga retreat, May 31 - June 2, on Bowen Island BC. I’m so looking forward to sharing this weekend with her and can’t wait to see what she captures in what’s bound to be a magical experience.
